This Excel sheet helps you design/select a I-beam Stanchion for a ship under a point load acting on top of the I-beam (see figure on right)
Useful in Marine Transportations to check suitablity of stanchion on a barge
Can be used to evaluate the strength of existing stanchion or select a new one
