What does this Excel Sheet do?
This Excel sheet helps you to calculate the design resistance of fillet welds between end plate and sections.
A welded connection comprises an incoming member welded to the end plate.
The end plate is either bolted to other member or is welded to another plate.
How to use this Excel Sheet
The user is asked for the weld and end plate material and dimensions. The Input cells are highlighted in blue.
The user has to provide all the inputs highlighted in blue.
Once all inputs are provided, the spreadsheet will evaluate the design resistance of the fillet weld.
Limitations
Simplified method for calculation of section modulus of weld is used.
Only applicable for double symmetrical sections (rectangular and I profiles)
