Dog plates a.k.a. clips are seafastening items which are used to restrain the cargo from tipping during transport. This spreadsheet can be used to design such a dog plate.
It takes as input the properties of the Cargo, the forces on the cargo and the properties of the Dog plate and performs the strength check in Longitudinal and transverse directions

It’s a valid instrument. It could be perfect including the calculation for a composite dog plate, i.e. the composition of a standard stopper with a welded doubler in the top part
